It’s not easy being an entrepreneur. The thought of taking an idea and turning it into a business—complete with startup costs, marketing strategies, constant decision-making and working way outside the 9-to-5 realm—can be daunting.
But on the other hand, it’s pretty exciting—the thought of starting with a mere idea or passion and turning it into a business all your own, working toward your goals instead of the goals of your employer, finding success while making a measurable difference. Guess it’s all in how you look at it.
When looking for companies to highlight in our third annual small business feature, we gathered insight from local leaders who recommended businesses that demonstrate creativity in their business idea and/or are quickly on the rise. Though small in size, these businesses have a large impact on our local economy and the vibrancy of our community.
