For more than 40 years, the Hampton Roads Chamber and the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads—a chamber affiliate—have celebrated the region’s small businesses with the annual Small Business of the Year Awards. Businesses were nominated by the business community, and then a business from each region area was selected by a distinct panel of judges. Businesses were evaluated on their history, company culture, philosophy, financial performance, employee training and motivation, community engagement, business planning and growth, and customer/client satisfaction.
Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and are so important to the well-being of the communities they serve. CoVaBIZ is pleased to partner with the Hampton Roads Chamber once again to feature these deserving businesses in this special feature.
Winners were recognized at an event in May at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
