4 Coastal Virginia Retailers to Hold Ribbon Cuttings

Four local Coastal Virginia retailers will hold ribbon cuttings over the next two weeks to celebrate a recent expansion or opening.

Philip Michael Fashion for Men, a leading men's apparel retailer in the area, will cut the ribbon on its new location at Coliseum Crossing, Tuesday, April 20. The fashion retailer recently moved to a new 4,800-square-foot location. Owner Phil Scotti is delighted to see the shopping center grow and looks forward to introducing new and existing customers to his expanded line of merchandise.

On Saturday, April 24, Jamie Skinner, owner of Shark City Naturals, will host the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the business' second location. The family-owned and operated all-natural cosmetics company will open its second Norfolk location, on 21st Street, following the success of the first location at Military Circle. The new location will serve as a retail storefront and warehouse for Shark City's organic products.

Pure Lagos African Art Gallery & Boutique, will debut its newest exhibition, "Pure Lagos presents Numbs Africa Center," a collection of works by Rufus Ogundele, the Picasso of Africa, on Friday, April 30. From 1963 and 1995, Rufus Ogundele created a spectacular body of work that celebrate the boundless beauty and colorful imagery of Yoruba life and culture. Pure Lagos, located on the first level of MacArthur Center, offers a curated selection of original art, artifacts, and fashion from across Africa.

Locally owned and operated Mad Hatter Studio will host a ribbon cutting in honor of the business' move from MacArthur Center to Lynnhaven Mall on Saturday, May 1. The gift shop, specializing in unique gifts, local art and premium gift wrapping services, will have an additional 700 square feet in its new location, allowing a greater selection of merchandise, including Virginia Beach-themed items for locals and tourists.
