We’re seeking trailblazers across every sector — technology, healthcare, professional services, education, real estate, nonprofit, arts, government, finance, and more. Who qualifies for nomination?
Nominated individuals should be established business leaders who have achieved meaningful success in their careers, demonstrated innovation in their fields, and maintained a strong record of community involvement. We’re looking for individuals from all industries who have made a lasting impact and continue to contribute to the growth and success of Coastal Virginia.
Does the nominee/employer have to be local?
Yes, nominees must live in and work for a company (or be self-employed) within the Coastal Virginia region.
What is the age range for nominees?
Nominees must be 60 years of age or older as of January 1, 2026.
Are self-nominations acceptable?
Yes, self-nominations are welcome.
Are nominations by family members or spouses allowed?
Yes. In some cases, such as small business environments, family members may be well-positioned to submit a nomination. However, we encourage colleagues, supervisors, or others who work closely with the nominee to provide additional perspective whenever possible.
Can someone be nominated multiple times?
Yes. However, multiple nominations do not increase the likelihood of selection.
What makes for a successful nomination?
Strong nominations tell a compelling story. The most effective submissions clearly highlight the nominee’s career achievements, leadership, challenges overcome, and contributions to the community. Providing specific examples and meaningful detail helps illustrate the nominee’s impact.
