United Way of the Virginia Peninsula’s Women United and Impact 100 Greater Peninsula will host a luncheon and community conversation with guest speaker Anne Holton at Hampton University on May 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Holton, a long-time advocate for children and families and the spouse of U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, served as a juvenile court judge, Virginia’s First Lady from 2006–2010 and Virginia’s Secretary of Education from 2014–2016. Education as a means for young people to escape poverty will be the main point of discussion at the event. During the luncheon, Women United will also introduce a new initiative to support its focus of creating pathways out of poverty for women and children through its partnership with Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia.
Attendance is $15 for Women United and Impact 100 members and $25 for nonmembers. To RSVP, visit here.
