Virginia Wesleyan University students are hosting a weeklong Business Conference, “The Marlin Prestige” through Nov. 17. Members of the community are invited to join in the conference’s workshops, presentations and interactive panels focusing on the fall 2017 theme, “Lighting the future: success through ethical business practices.”
The conference’s free and open to the public daily activities include guest speakers from the City of Virginia Beach, Edward Jones and the Elizabeth River Project, among others. The conference will also host “Shark Tank” presentations, the Information Systems Programs (ISP) class presentations, interactive alumni, faculty career panels and a Kickoff Gala.
The Business Conference, held twice annually, was coordinated by Virginia Wesleyan University business students enrolled in the “Principles of Management” course. Students facilitate the event’s exercise of key management skills, networking and project and financial planning.
