The Artists Gallery opened their first exhibition on Friday, March 15 in their new home at the Virginia Beach Art Center located at 532 Virginia Beach Blvd. in the ViBe Creative District. The exhibition Imagine features the collective imaginations of over 45 artists that have made the new location a reality.

The Artists Gallery opened over 30 years ago on 24th Street at the Oceanfront. “The premise was to create an affordable space for artists to work, share the expenses of advertising and rent and display and sell their art,” said Constance Fahey, founder and current director of The Artists Gallery.

After relocating, The Artists Gallery created its sister organization Virginia Beach Art Center to attain nonprofit status and to focus on its educational mission while expanding and incorporating the City of Virginia Beach’s Parks and Recreation pottery program, which needed a new home.

After four months of construction and a year of fundraising to collect $300,000, The Artists Gallery moved to its new space and opened its first exhibition.
