The Suffolk Local 2801 Professional Fire and Rescue is supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) as its members kick off the annual Fill-the-Boot fundraising campaign to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases live longer and grow stronger.
Two hundred and fifty fire fighters from Suffolk Local 2801 Professional Fire and Rescue will hit the streets and storefronts with boots in-hand asking for donations for MDA from May 4–5, 11–12 and 18–19 at 9 a.m. Funds from Fill-the-Boot help support research and life-enhancing programs such as support groups and care centers, including the MDA Care Center at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk. Additionally, they also help send over 70 kids at no cost to “the best week of the year” at MDA summer camp at the 4-H Camp in Wakefield, Va.
