Virginia Beach Youth Service Club (formerly the Virginia Beach Exchange Club) donated $3,000 to support An Achievable Dream. The donated funds were generated by the YSC's Annual Spring Pig Roast at Camp Pendleton in which more than $100,000 was raised for local youth-oriented charities. This was the 47th consecutive year for the YSC's Spring Pig Roast, which has raised more than $1 million for local charities.

John S. Norris, Jr., president of the Virginia Beach law firm Norris & St. Clair, presents a check in the amount of $3,000 from the Virginia Beach Youth Service Club to Julie Angilly, vice president of development and communications for An Achievable Dream.

An Achievable Dream has schools in both Newport News and Virginia Beach educating students from low income and disadvantaged families. The Virginia Beach location of An Achievable Dream currently offers first through sixth grade and will ultimately grow to a full sized elementary school. Graduates from An Achievable Dream High School in Newport News have a 100 percent success rate in attending higher education schools or joining the military.
