Vandeventer Black LLP recently celebrated its 135th anniversary by holding an event with their attorneys and staff members. Norfolk Mayor Kenny Cooper Alexander was the guest of honor and granted Vandeventer Black with a proclamation from the City of Norfolk recognizing the firm’s historic milestone.

“The City of Norfolk congratulates Vandeventer Black for withstanding the test of time and for proudly serving the region for 135 years,” remarked Mayor Alexander. “The firm’s commitment to serving its clients with the personal attention they deserve, as well as its devotion to philanthropy and community service have been crucial in upholding its history and legacy.”

While the firm began as a solo maritime law firm practice in 1883, the firm has maintained its leadership position in maritime law and trade and has evolved to a broader practice of business and litigation serving clients beyond local, national and international boundaries.
