Virginia Beach-based creative agency Red Chalk Studios is expanding its services with the acquisition of long-time marketing and communications collaborator Cahoon & Cross. Taking place December 31, 2016, the acquisition combines the leadership of two women-owned businesses with a history of successful branding and marketing campaigns for The Navy SEAL Foundation, Enterprise Wireless Alliance, Elizabeth City’s economic development and tourism agencies and the Hampton Roads Planning District’s Commission’s askHRgreen.org public education campaign.
Founder and Creative Director Kim Nelson of Red Chalk Studios expressed the significance of the acquisition of the agency, stating, “Margaret Cahoon and Nancy Cross have been tremendous role models and mentors for us.”
Since opening in 1987, Cahoon & Cross has developed their client list to include Nationwide Insurance, Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan (FAMIS), Virginia Department of Health, National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative and FamilyCare Senior Solutions. “The strong working relationship we have shared with them, and the example they have set in servicing their clients, is one we will continue,” Nelson added.
Red Chalk Studios has been successfully developing and delivering brand strategies and marketing campaigns for 17 years. With the acquisition of Cahoon & Cross, Margaret Cahoon will serve in a consulting role with the agency, adding to the firm’s full-service resources with public relations and media planning.
