The 2018 Otter Ball Conservation Gala, held on May 11, successfully raised $120,000 for the Virginia Living Museum. The funds support the museum’s mission to deliver engaging natural science and conservation education through quality exhibits, live animal demonstrations, 1,300 classes and programs and special events throughout the year.
Otter Ball, presented by TowneBank, had approximately 200 guests in attendance during the elegant event, which is the leading contributor to the museum’s conservation mission.
During the gala, Bradford N. Patten, president of the board of trustees, recognized Mr. Brian K. Skinner with the Golden Paw, the highest award that the Virginia Living Museum bestows to an individual, business or organization that has made a significant and lasting contribution. The Gala also featured a menu prepared with local and sustainable resources while highlighting the museum’s award-winning programs.
