The Hampton Roads Workforce Council has partnered with the City of Norfolk Department of Development to host the Small Business Networking Social at the Hamilton Perkins shop in the MacArthur Center Mall on Sept. 7 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Hamilton Perkins, owner of the Hamilton Perkins Collection, will be the keynote speaker. The event will provide information about the first steps in pursuing an entrepreneurial career. An introduction will be made for the upcoming three-part Biz Café event series, which includes an opportunity to win grant money through the Pitch Competition. The series aims to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in underserved areas of Norfolk.
New and existing businesses will receive information on developing a business plan, crafting the perfect pitch and transitioning from employee to entrepreneur. The Biz Café will also offer financial, legal, accounting, marketing, management and technical assistance to aspiring business owners.
