Gloucester County School Recognized for Environmental Education

by CoVaBizMag

Virginia Naturally Schools, the official environmental education school recognition program of the Commonwealth administered by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF), recognized schools for their environmental stewardship efforts during the 2018-2019 school year.

Now in its 20th year, the goal of the program is to recognize exemplary efforts undertaken by Virginia schools to increase environmental awareness and stewardship of their students. This year, DGIF recognized 67 Virginia schools. Three schools have submitted their success stories every year since the beginning of the program, including Peasley Middle School in Gloucester County, which has been dedicated to environmental stewardship and education in their curriculum.
