Bon Secours Hampton Roads Hospitals Earn ‘A’ in Patient Safety

by CoVaBizMag

Bon Secours Virginia Health System recently announced that Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth and Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News were recognized with an “A” Hospital Safety Grade, a standard measure of patient safety by The Leapfrog Group. These facilities were among only 30 percent of hospitals nationwide to receive the “A” grade.

The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to driving quality, safety and transparency in the U.S. health care system, and assigns grades from A to F to more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals across the nation twice a year in the fall and spring. The grade represents a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
