Coastal Virginia’s innovation economy is advancing, due in no small part to the people and organizations launching new programs, expanding research capacity, building industry partnerships, and accelerating the pace of tech transfer.

They’re developing new technologies, strengthening workforce pipelines and reaping the benefits of close partnerships between industry and academia. As Patrick Ball, Associate Director, Hampton Roads Biomedical research Consortium put it: “In Hampton Roads, innovation happens through the power of collaboration.”

In this special editorial feature, we’re pleased to highlight our region’s Innovation Superheroes, and celebrate the impact of their diverse contributions.

We want to thank the Chrysler Museum of Art for allowing us to use the innovative Perry Glass Studio as the photo shoot destination for this feature. We chose the Glass Studio because it’s overall design is a powerful example of resilient architecture and design, and is a destination for creative ideation.
