3 Coastal Virginia Companies Rank in 2021 Fortune 500 List

Three Coastal Virginia companies were placed on Fortune magazine’s 2021 Fortune 500 list. The list, now in its 67th run, ranks the 1,000 largest corporations in the U.S. by total revenue. The rankings also break down the profits for 2021, asset value, market value, change in rank and number of employees.

Dollar Tree, with headquarters in Chesapeake, jumped 20 spots to No. 111. Norfolk Southern went down by 24 in rankings, to No. 307, this year. Huntington Ingalls in Newport News had the biggest move among local businesses, up 30 spots to No. 327.

Also worth noting, Virginia Beach-based Franchise Group Inc. made the 2021 Fortune 1000 list for the first time, ranking No. 924.
