Fill out the form below to nominate a deserving Next Gen who is making a difference.
Who qualifies for nomination?
Nominated individuals should be established business leaders who have accomplished specific achievements in the business world with a strong record of innovation in their fields, outstanding performance in their businesses and a clear track record of meaningful community involvement. We’re looking for those from every industry and profession who have made a difference in their communities, blazed a trail for the rest of us and are leaving a mark in Coastal Virginia.
Does the nominee/employer have to be local?
Yes, nominees must live in and work for a company (or be self-employed) in Coastal Virginia.
What is the age range for nominees?
Nominees should be between the ages of 20 and 40 as of the date of publication for the issue of CoVa BIZ Magazine in which nominees will be featured. For 2023, that date is Sept. 1.
Are self-nominations acceptable?
Yes, you may nominate yourself.
Can someone be nominated multiple times?
Yes. However, multiple nominations for the same person do not enhance the nominee’s chances of being selected.
What makes for a successful nomination?
Strong nominations tell a personal story of the nominee’s path to success, obstacles overcome, unique talents, etc. The adage “show, don’t tell” applies here: The best nominations are clear, short and complete while offering sufficient details and examples to illustrate the nominee’s strengths, accomplishments and contributions to the local community.
