Maha Kombucha Introduces Zero-Waste Initiative

by CoVaBizMag

Virginia Beach-based Maha Kombucha is promoting a zero-waste business model to produce fermented probiotic teas that are lower in sugar and are low-calorie alternatives for consumers.

The company only uses recycled or recyclable products in its production process and composts all food waste. Maha also donated a portion of sales to sustainability initiatives and relies on its consumers to carry forth their mission. The company instituted a bottle return program where consumers receive a free bottle of kombucha for every 10 bottles of Maha kombucha they return for reuse.
