JT Walk and Beach Party Kick-Off Event to Benefit Camp Grom

JT Walk and Beach Party Kick-Off Event to Benefit Camp Grom

In collaboration with Diamond Resorts International, one of the largest vacation ownership companies in the world, Virginia Beach-based nonprofit, The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, will host their annual JT Walk and Beach Party kick-off event with special guest and country music superstar, Cole Swindell, at Camp Grom in Virginia Beach on Sunday, July 16.

In addition to the private performance and VIP meet-and-greet with Diamond Resorts Ambassador and Platinum-selling artist Cole Swindell, the event will showcase two guest speakers—Mike Flaskey, CEO of Diamond Resorts, and Andrew Yancey, Chairman of The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation.

This year’s kick-off concert hopes to raise the remaining $1 million required for the completion of Camp Grom’s construction. Camp Grom’s TowneBank Sportsplex for EveryBODY is a 20-acre beach-inspired camp and adventure park located in Virginia Beach. Yancey describes Camp Grom as a unique community offering recreation and relaxation opportunities for wounded veterans and disabled children, as well as their families. Kick-off guests will have the opportunity to tour the grounds and over 200 Diamond Resorts International members, owners and guests are expected to attend.

In anticipation of the event, Yancey states, “We have truly been humbled by the tremendous support we have received from community leaders throughout Virginia, and longtime supporters like Diamond Resorts that have made Camp Grom a reality.”

Flaskey claims that Diamond Resorts International is proud support and take part in Camp Grom’s construction. “Camp Grom is a prime example of how much can be accomplished in a short period of time when a community and its leaders join together,” says Flaskey.

The 10th annual JT Walk and Beach Party will take place on October 8, 2017. The JT Walk and Beach Party raises awareness about ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, and is celebrated for being the leading one-day walk and fundraiser for the National ALS Association.
